again用法詳解

　　again【'gen】，英語(yǔ)詞匯，副詞，表示“又;再”，源自古英語(yǔ)的ongean，意為朝向，反對(duì)。

　　一、語(yǔ)法用法

　　1. 一般說(shuō)來(lái)，它不與那些已含有 again 意義的動(dòng)詞連用，以免構(gòu)成用詞重復(fù)。如：

　　請(qǐng)?jiān)僬f(shuō)一遍。

　　正：Please repeat it. / Please say it again.

　　誤：Please repeat it again.

　　但是有時(shí)為了強(qiáng)調(diào)，again 本身卻可以疊用。如：

　　He made the same mistake again and again. 他反復(fù)犯同樣的錯(cuò)誤。

　　有時(shí)也可見(jiàn) again 與 repeat 之類的詞連用，但那表示的是第3次而不是第2次。如：

　　He had to repeat it again. 他只好又重復(fù)了一遍。(即連同原來(lái)的第一遍和第二遍共計(jì)3遍)

　　2. 注意以下含有again的表達(dá)，不要誤解其意思：

　　(1) then again 再說(shuō)，另一方面。用于引出相對(duì)照的事實(shí)或看法。如：

　　He’s clumsy and untidy but then again he’s always willing to help. 他笨手笨腳的又邋遢;可是話說(shuō)回來(lái)，他總是樂(lè)于助人。

　　有時(shí)也說(shuō)there again。

　　(2) 以下各例用于“as + adj. + again”結(jié)構(gòu)中的again表示“增加”：

　　My uncle is as old again as I am. 我叔叔的年齡比我大一倍。

　　I’d like the photograph enlarged so that it’s half as big again. 我想把這張照片放大一半。

　　這類結(jié)構(gòu)尤其見(jiàn)于as many again,as much again這兩個(gè)結(jié)構(gòu)。如：

　　I’d like as many [much] again. 我愿再增加一倍。

　　The cost is about half as much again as it was two years ago. 現(xiàn)在的價(jià)格比兩年前提高約一半。

　　There aren’t enough chairs for the meeting—we need half as many again. 供開(kāi)會(huì)用的椅子數(shù)量不夠——需要再增加一半。

　　二、例句與用法

　　Try again. 再試試。

　　It is as large again as that. 這比那個(gè)大一倍。(注意：as large again as是 ... 的兩倍，比 ... 大一倍)Say that again,please. 請(qǐng)?jiān)僬f(shuō)一遍。

　　Please say that again. 請(qǐng)?jiān)僬f(shuō)一次。

　　1. 再,再一次

　　Would you say that again?

　　請(qǐng)你再說(shuō)一遍好嗎?

　　2. 重回;恢復(fù)原狀

　　Henry was glad to be home again.

　　亨利很高興又回到家里。

　　3. 再者;此外

　　Then again,I doubt whether he will come.

　　再說(shuō),我懷疑他是否會(huì)來(lái)。
